PML-N and PPP Coalition Fractured

The PJC is dismayed at the recent tension within the governing Pakistani political coalition that had previously stood united in its support for judicial restoration. With its nascent democracy attempting to establish itself in the shadow of prior military rule, Pakistan remains politically precarious. In the interest of the country’s stability and future prospects, the PJC encourages all parties to unite and follow the popular mandate from the March elections to restore the independent judges who served prior to November, 2007.
